The World Reputation Ranking is an offshoot of the annual THE World University Ranking. It is based on a survey of experienced researchers. This year, over 10,000 researchers from 133 countries between January and March 2016 were surveyed on excellence in research and teaching in their disciplines as well as in institutions of which they are familiar. According to THE, the ranking is a result of the number of mentions of the individual universities as the best in their field.
