From simple text generation to the automated analysis of large data corpora, AI offers numerous application possibilities in science and research. This raises increasingly complex questions:
- What should researchers bear in mind from a copyright perspective?
- Is AI-generated content protected by copyright?
- What are the liability risks and what does the new AI Act regulate?
As an expert, our speaker Dr Maximilian Vonthien, LL.M. (Columbia), attorney at CMS Hasche Sigle, will provide in-depth insights into the legal framework. Dr. Vonthien's legal advice focuses on copyright law and artificial intelligence law. He advises companies on the drafting of AI guidelines and provides expert opinions on legal issues relating to the AI Act and related areas, in particular copyright and competition law. Dr. Vonthien is (co-)author of the legal handbook Artificial Intelligence published by Beck Verlag, co-head of CMS Hasche Sigle's internal AI Focus Group and member of BITKOM's Artificial Intelligence working group.
The event is free of charge for all researchers at HU, TU, FU and Charité. Please register by stating the date and title of the event: innovation@hu-berlin.de
We look forward to many registrations!
