With the Alexander von Humboldt Professorships, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation sponsors top international appointments at German universities. The HU has so far been able to acquire four AvH professorships. Link

Einstein Foundation Berlin

Logo Einstein Stiftung

Through the Einstein Foundation Berlin, the state of Berlin funds research at the four Berlin universities and Charité-Universit?tsmedizin Berlin in order to provide targeted support for Berlin as a center of science.

Einstein Centers

With the Einstein Centers, the Einstein Foundation Berlin promotes cross-institutional interdisciplinary cooperation and thus strengthens innovative research.

Former Einstein Centres
Einstein Strategic Professorships

With Einstein Strategic Professorships [Einstein-Profil-Professuren], the Einstein Foundation funds top international scientists to conduct research in Berlin for an initial period of five years.

Einstein Professorships

By funding an Einstein Professorship for up to two years, the Einstein Foundation supports the Berlin universities and Charité in their appointment or retention negotiations.

Einstein Visiting Fellows

As Einstein Visiting Fellows, top foreign scientists can carry out a joint research project with a research project based at HU. Funding is provided for a maximum of four years.

Einstein Research Units

The Einstein Research Units enable the Berlin University Alliance to establish inter- and transdisciplinary alliances for strategically important fields of research.

Einstein BUA/Oxford Visiting Fellows

Einstein BUA/Oxford Visiting Fellows? will supervise a working group for three years in which they will conduct research on a "Grand Challenge" together with the Berlin University Alliance.
