Cost of living
In the European context, Germany is one of the medium-priced countries. However, it is still crucial to correctly assess the costs for a successful stay and to ensure secure financing.
Before you come to Germany, you must prove how you will finance your stay when applying for a visa. You must demonstrate that you can financially support your stay. The current amount is 992 euros per month or 11,904 euros per year. Students in particular may be required to set up a blocked account.
A blocked account is a bank account whose account holder can only use it with the approval of a third party.
The costs incurred to cover basic needs such as housing, food, clothing and leisure are known as the cost of living. In comparison to other European countries, the cost of living in Germany is roughly in the middle tier.
