In her talk, Michèle Lamont presented her book as well as ongoing collaborative research. She addressed specifically:
- how young American and British workers are fighting for political recognition in the 'two Manchesters';
- how Indigenous peoples in Canada and Micronesia are striving for secure jobs and recognition through environmental justice
- and generally, on challenges in struggles for social, political and cultural recognition.
