In the third international study on confirmation work – a non-formal educational offer of Protestant churches – almost 10.000 adolescents from different European countries reported their expectations and experiences. Country-specific chapters on Austria, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Norway, Poland, Sweden, and Switzerland provide insights into the state of confirmation work during the COVID-19 pandemic and afterwards. Systematic chapters deal with current discussions on learning and teaching, digital media, gender issues, youth religiosity as well as confirmands who are distanced from the church. The four-year quantitative research project was co-led by Prof. Dr. Henrik Simojoki. The study is available under an open access licence.
