Description

The overarching goal of the SIB:DE Initiative is to evaluate the sodium-ion technology for an sustainable European energy and mobility transition and to achieve rapid industrial implementation. The project aims to consolidate national competencies ranging from battery material development to the production of largeformat cells to quickly increase the technology readiness level. Close cooperation between partners from academia and industry should ensure the swift transfer of research results into industrial scaling. The concepts pursued in the current SIB:FORSCHUNG project are characterized by the fact that they can utilize existing infrastructure and process know-how from lithium-ion battery cell production for the manufacturing of active materials and the processing at the cell and module level (so-called drop-in technology).
