Services for researchers in different project phases

1. project preparation and application

We offer researchers comprehensive advice and support in acquiring third-party funding with the aim of better tapping into national and international funding sources. We will support you in finding the right funding organisation, submitting an application and setting up your project in our research information system.

2. project management

We administer third-party funded projects with maximum efficiency and minimum administrative effort. Here you will find the contact persons for the various funding programmes who will support you in the administration of your research project. We also provide helpful tools, such as a personnel cost calculator, and further information and forms.

3. utilisation of results

We support researchers, alumni and students in the practical application of university knowledge in collaboration with business and society. We advise on spin-offs, research collaborations and securing intellectual property. We operate start-up incubators at Campus Adlershof and Campus Mitte/Nord. Humboldt-Innovation GmbH networks science, business and society and offers comprehensive services, further training and events to bring innovations into application.

Legal advice

The Legal Research Affairs Office advises and supports members of HU Berlin in the establishment and implementation of collaborations and in legal matters relating to research contracts.

Supervision of the Clusters of Excellence

The Research Service Centre supports ongoing Clusters of Excellence in their administrative implementation and advises new initiatives for future cluster applications. We advise, support and coordinate the involvement of all stakeholders at Humboldt-Universit?t.

The Computer and Media Service's Research Data Management programme aims to raise researchers' awareness of how to handle their research data, while providing them with the resources and support they need to manage, share and reuse research data effectively.

Good academic practice is central to the integrity and credibility of research. Humboldt-Universit?t zu Berlin offers guidelines, further training and support for researchers.

Export control

Export controls must be observed in international research projects outside Europe: An internal compliance programme for export control.

Research ethics

Researchers should also reflect on the possible consequences of their research. Increasingly, specialist journals, funding organisations and ethics guidelines are demanding the submission of ethics opinions from ethics committees. At Humboldt-Universit?t zu Berlin, researchers can contact the ethics committees of their faculties and other institutions.
