Humboldt-Universit?t zu Berlin defines endowed profess orships as all professorships financed by third-party funding. As a rule, endowed professorships are transferred to the university structure after the end of the funding period; in other cases, the professorship expires at the end of the funding period or continues to be funded on a pro rata basis through third-party funding.
The endowed visiting professorships are third-party funded teaching programmes offered by changing academics. These include long-term collaborations with individual private and public sponsors as well as specific formats such as the DAAD visiting professorship.
