Description
The research project aims to support the professionalisation of guided second language acquisition for refugees with learning difficulties as part of a model project. A participatory design-based research project will be used to conduct a longitudinal evaluation of existing services, supplemented by organisational consulting and the further development of instruments for participatory research. This includes language assessment and support planning for the target group.
A central element of the project is the participatory involvement of refugees with learning difficulties in the further development of needs-based inclusive language course programmes. To this end, a research advisory board will be set up that includes members of self-advocacy organisations to ensure that the perspectives and needs of the target group are adequately taken into account.
Finally, further training events for teachers of German as a second language (GSL) will be offered to promote the design of inclusive GSL lessons. The results of the research will be published in an accessible format to ensure broad accessibility and application of the findings.
