Description
The project “Critical Education Research on Racism and Discrimination with a Focus on Antiziganism” focuses on history, knowledge production, and biography in relation to the educational history and present situation of Sinti and Roma in Germany and Europe under antiziganist-racist conditions. The project consists of three lines of research: 1. Education in post-National Socialist societies at the intersection of education policy, school administration, and school practice: German Sinti*zze in the education system of the FRG and GDR based on local case studies; 2. The educability of European Roma: transnational knowledge production in the context of the European Union; 3. Educational participation of students from Romani communities who have migrated to Germany: barriers and conditions for success – resistance strategies and self-theories. Questions of educational history, anti-racist theory formation, transnationality/internationalization, and methodology and method development in the field of biographical research are central to all aspects of the project.
