Description
The central objective of this project is to study and use monolayers of transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) in combination with photochromic and solvatochromic molecules to realize novel opto-electronic functionalities and devices. For this purpose, we will study the mechanism relating dipole modulation in the switching molecules with transport modulation in the TMDC/molecule hybrid inorganic/organic system (HIOS), realize an integrated plasmonic and opto-electronic switching device emulating neuromorphic behaviour, and realize novel near infrared detectors.
