Description

The projects funded under the funding line of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research "Networking - Accessing - Researching. Alliance for University Collections II " will, as collection- and holdings-related research and collaborative projects, be confronted with a number of shared and complementary problems and challenges, while at the same time producing results that will be relevant to all scientific collections at universities, colleges and museums.

The proposed accompanying project (BEGLEIT) will effectively support the research and collaborative projects in the realisation of their projects and at the same time contribute to ensuring that the overall network of scientific collections benefits from the work and results of the Alliance projects. These goals are realised in five work packages:
1) "Spaces and forums for internal networking" establish a common place for exchange and mutual support.
2) Within the framework of "consultation", the BEGLEIT team is available to all participants as a contact and mentor.
3) Through the "Evaluation of Collection Infrastructures", sites are supported in their infrastructure development, and an assessment of the overall progress made is also made.
4) Pioneering results from research and development projects are documented as good practice in "knowledge transfer", publicised and introduced into further discourses, networks and working groups.
5) Measures of "Public Relations and Public Events" network the funded research projects with collection-related and museum communities and the scientific public, present results and invite discussion. Even after the end of the funding line, the results of the funded projects continue to be used. They flow into the regular work of the coordination office, are further developed and made available in the long term.
