About the people
Anna-Bettina Kaiser is Professor of Public Law and Foundations of Law at the Faculty of Law at HU and is being honoured for her outstanding academic achievements, her national and international reputation and the social impact of her work. Since her habilitation on the subject of exceptional constitutional law, she has been an outstanding pluralist thinker, bridging the gap between social theory and applicable legal knowledge. Her ground-breaking and widely acclaimed habilitation has made the leap beyond the academic field to non-fiction bestseller lists and has become one of the leading voices in the public discourse on the crises and states of emergency of recent years. The jury also recognised her commitment at the HU, such as her work in setting up the IRI Law and Society.
Corinna Coupette impressed the selection committee with her impressive interdisciplinarity and dual specialisation in the fields of law and computer science, a rare and challenging combination, as well as widely acclaimed publications in both subjects. These form the basis of her pioneering and ground-breaking research in the field of "Legal Network Research", which formulates a major methodological advance in a data-driven approach.
