From 1 to 10 November 2025, Berlin Science Week invites you to experience science up close for the tenth year running. Humboldt-Universit?t zu Berlin (HU) will be represented with exhibitions, guided tours, installations, workshops and the Humboldt Children's University. Berlin primary school classes have already been able to register in advance for the Humboldt Children's University. Under the motto "Beyond now", the festival asks how science can help to open up new perspectives for the future of science and society in a time of great change.
Programme highlights of the HU - a selection
Anatomia Publica - Open Stage for Scientific, Aestetic and Social Research Practices. Opening
An installation illuminates the dome of the Theatre of Veterinary Anatomy at Humboldt-Universit?t as a sparkling night sky, offering a space to explore planetary interconnections and collaborative visions of the future through art, science, fiction and cultural heritage.

S.O.S. Sea Change
Sustainability and fashion come together in the "S.O.S. Sea Change" workshop with designer Ruwanthi Gajadeera, where young people aged 14 and over can redesign old clothes and discuss the consequences of everyday fashion consumption and the impact on local waters and the ocean system.
The workshop will be held in German and English.

Contested Freedom(s) - Freedom and Responsibility: Who is allowed to do what?
Individual freedom is a fundamental value of liberal democracies - but where does it end when others are affected? Blooms - Blooming Algae: An immersive VR Experience for Science communication
Blooms combines art, virtual reality and environmental topics. Visitors experience an art-science installation that invites them to literally become a particle of algae and immerse themselves in the hidden soundscapes of toxic algal blooms.

Future energies - dreams of the future? A physics show musical about energies of the future
Humanity needs energy counselling - can the universe help? With a mix of science, music and humour, future energies become an exciting stage show. Physics meets musical!

Public overview tour: "On Water. Water knowledge in Berlin"
Water is life, but it can also be destructive. The exhibition "On Water. WaterKnowledge in Berlin" shows current research projects of the Berlin University Alliance (BUA) on the topic of water.

The first Berliners - and how we learn more about them
Lecture: "Who were the early C?llners/Berliners, where did they come from and how did they live?" Guided tour of the Chapel of the Holy Spirit and a concert in the evening with the ensemble CELESTIEL, which will take the audience on a musical journey through the Middle Ages.
