Leading international conference for data scientists convenes in Berlin

More than 1,000 data experts are expected at ACM SIGMOD/PODS in Berlin from 22 to 27 June 2025

Database management technologies in combination with machine learning are the cornerstones of all major AI applications. At SIGMOD/PODS, which takes place this year at the Intercontinental Hotel in Berlin, database experts from all over the world gather every year to present and discuss the latest developments in the industry. The conference offers an exciting technical programme with research and company presentations, tutorials, demos and focused workshops. In addition, there will be a poster exhibition on the latest research findings, an industry exhibition with companies and publishers and a career panel with leading companies.

"Artificial intelligence can only realise its potential if the diverse challenges in data management are solved. SIGMOD/PODS will highlight the region's research excellence, particularly in the processing of continuously generated data streams and the integration of data from very heterogeneous sources," says Prof. Dr Matthias Weidlich, Professor at Humboldt-Universit?t zu Berlin and co-organiser of the conference, emphasising the special attention that the conference will bring to local universities.

Representatives of Humboldt-Universit?t zu Berlin, the Berlin Institute for the Foundations of Learning and Data (BIFOLD), Technische Universit?t Berlin and the Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI) Potsdam have jointly succeeded in bringing the most important international scientific conference in the field of data management to Berlin in 2025.
