Training and information services offered by the University Library
Workshops for academics at all career levels
The Humboldt-Universit?t University Library is continuously expanding its range of workshops and training courses on good academic practice, from introductions to database searches and workshops on literature management programmes to complete packages such as "Compact course in life sciences" and "My first term paper", which include tips on correct citation and avoiding plagiarism.
Courses on literature management programmes and research data management in particular are also attended by higher semesters, doctoral students and postgraduates. In the Lost in Dissertation lecture series, which the HU University Library organises annually together with the State Library, Freie Universit?t and Technische Universit?t, doctoral students receive a compact lecture programme on topics relating to good academic practice.
Programmes offered by the Humboldt Graduate School
For doctoral candidates
The Humboldt Graduate School (HGS) offers doctoral candidates workshops and online training courses on good academic practice. The online training programme on good academicpractice comprises five modules that can be completed with a certificate.
For carers
Humboldt-Universit?t is particularly committed to supporting early-career researchers. The Humboldt Graduate School (HGS) offers annual and on-demand workshops, coaching and intervision for newly appointed and interested researchers to support good supervision during the doctorate.
The supervision agreements between doctoral candidates and supervisors are an important instrument for clarifying goals and time frames as well as mutual responsibilities and tasks for the doctoral project in order to avoid disagreements later on. On the HGS website you will find guidelines and regulations for supervision as well as a sample supervision agreement.
