Infrastructure and mobility

Unfortunately, Humboldt-Universit?t zu Berlin is not barrier-free at all locations. However, we are constantly improving our buildings, rooms and central locations to ensure that you can get to your courses with as few barriers as possible. On these pages you will find an overview of accessibility and mobility on our campus.

Infrastructures and possible barriers

Humboldt-Universit?t has three campuses in the Berlin city area: North, Centre and Adlershof. For combined Bachelor's degree programmes, it may be necessary to switch between different campus areas.

How to get there

Depending on which faculty you would like to visit on the North Campus, there are various ways to get there. We recommend the address of the "Berlin School of Mind and Brain" at Luisenstra?e 56, 10117 Berlin. The public transport stop "Charité - Campus Mitte" (bus 147) is also nearby. If you would like to go to Mensa Nord or the Campus Nord branch library, for example, it is advisable to travel by wheelchair to the underground station "Naturkundemuseum" (U6). From there it is approx. 550 metres. If you are travelling by train, take the tram (M10) from "Hauptbahnhof" to the underground station "Naturkundemuseum". From there you can reach the respective institutes.

Barriers

  1. Almost all buildings, with the exception of Invalidenstra?e 42, 110 and 118 and the building Philippstr. 13 Haus 25, are not barrier-free.
  2. Hessische Str. 2, Emil-Fischer-H?rsaal: Access for people with wheelchairs or walking disabilities only via the ZwB Campus Nord with the help of security.

Directions

The best way to reach the main building of Campus Mitte, Unter den Linden 6, 10117 Berlin by wheelchair is from the "Friedrichstra?e" S-Bahn and U-Bahn station. From there it is 550 metres to the main building.

Barrier-free buses (100, 245) also run from "Alexanderplatz" station (also wheelchair accessible) to "Staatsoper" station, from where it is 85 metres to the main building.

Disabled parking spaces

The disabled car park has been relocated. It is located on the side of the west wing. If you enter the grounds by car, after approx. 20 metres on the left-hand side.

Barriers

  1. Dorotheenstr. 24: Disabled parking spaces are regularly used by others
  2. Dorotheenstr. 28 (not completely barrier-free, currently undergoing renovation)
  3. Georgenstr. 47: Among other things, no disabled parking spaces, the installation was rejected by the district office, there are no automatic doors in the underground car park
  4. Unter den Linden 6: cobblestones at the entrance via the cour d'honneur and through the garden from Dorotheenstr.
  5. Unter den Linden 6: Restrictions on access due to construction work from Unter den Linden and Dorotheenstr.
  6. Unter den Linden 6: Due to construction work, barrier-free access to the East Wing is only possible via the West Wing lift until summer 2022. For help with orientation in the building, please contact the security staff on site.
