Course structure and content

Russian Studies is part of the field of Foreign Languages and Literatures. The course covers the Russian language, literature and culture. Solid foreign language training goes alongside the acquisition of specialist skills. The course deals with linguistic and literary studies phenomena, but also includes historical, regional studies and cultural studies issues.

Literature Studies:
Module LW 1: Introduction to Literature Studies, 8 CP
Module LW 2: Literature Studies: poetics, medium, discourse, 8 CP
Linguistics:
Module SW 1: Introduction to Linguistics, 8 CP
Module SW 2: Linguistic: Structure, Text, Context, 8  CP
Language Skills:
Module SP 3: Laguage Practice III, 6 CP
Module SP 4: Laguage Practice IV, 6 CP
Module SP 5: Laguage Practice V, 6 CP
Module SP 6: Laguage Practice VI, 6 CP

Module AL 1: In-depth Studies in the Specialist Discipline Abroad or
Module AL 2: In-depth Studies in the Specialist Discipline Inland, each 14 CP
Module FD: Introduction to the didactics of Russian teaching (7 CP)
Module BA: Bachelor's Thesis, 10 CP

Teacher training studies (16 CP)
In addition to specialised study, students on a bachelor's teacher training option will complete the Educational Sciences teacher training module (11 CP) and the module Sprachbildung (5 CP).
 

Special features

You do not have to provide proof of Russian language skills upon enrolment, but level A2 is required as an entry requirement for the Language Practice III module. If necessary, a preparatory course can be completed, preparatory tutorial programme. - Adequate knowledge of German is required.
