PostDoc (m/f/d) in the project Centre for Social Critique

At a glance
Since 2018, the Centre for Social Critique has been dedicated to the intertwined crises of democracy and capitalism. The Centre's goal is to analyse the current social situation and to provide and further develop the fundamental conceptual tools for such analyses. With its broad thematic focus, the Centre considers the relationships between the economy, society and politics - and the potential tensions or even contradictions that arise in the process.
Your responsibilities
- scientific service in research and public events at the Centre for Social Critique in the field of social philosophy and critical theory, in particular collaboration on academic profiling, content design, results consolidation, institutional networking and public presentation of the Centre
- participation in the application for additional third-party funding
- conception and organisation of events
development of independent content contributions to the Centre's research topics
This is not a qualification position within the meaning of the WissZeitVG (German Academic Fixed-Term Contract Act).
What you bring to the table
- completed scientific university education in philosophy and doctorate, preferably in the field of practical philosophy, political philosophy, social philosophy, social sciences or a related subject
- very good written and spoken German and English skills (at least B2)
- experience in organising academic conferences
- knowledge and experience in applying for third-party funding
- knowledge and experience in academic and university management, including management of academic events and coordination of research projects/centres
- experience in press and public relations, event management and writing and editing academic texts
