Description
Within the project GeSTEMdidact we develop teaching methods, materials for planning, resources, and tools for exchange which can support lecturers from STEM disciplines, Gender Studies, and further disciplines in knowledge transfer of gender and STEM aspects in their respective fields of study. The teaching-related contents and formats for exchange will be integrated into the portal GenderingMINTdigital (https://www2.hu-berlin.de/genderingmintdigital/, Open Access) that has been developed at the Center for Transdisciplinary Gender Studies (ZtG) at the HU Berlin. This online portal already offers modular and mutually cross-linked teaching units for various thematic topics, i.e., gender concepts, gender in biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics, and physics as well as technoscientific literacy. Students can gain reflective knowledge with these Open Educational Recourses (OER) in teaching formats of blended learning and inverted classroom. With the development and implementation of elaborated didactical content and formats, GeSTEMdidact targets to support lecturers who already teach with the discipline-specific and interdisciplinary OER or aim to use the portal for their courses. As such, GeSTEMdidact takes up their need of gaining interdisciplinary competence for integrating gender aspects into STEM fields, and for STEM knowledge into Gender Studies. The teaching-related content will be developed and tested iteratively in continuous exchange with the lecturers. Digital tools for group exchange should consolidate the feedback and reflective discussion between the lecturers. Moreover, the teaching community will be strengthened with theoretical and processual knowledge according to hybrid/digital teaching in digital “rooms” of the learning platform Moodle.
