Appointments are important components of the strategic orientation and further development of Humboldt-Universit?t zu Berlin. They are a central organisational instrument and have an impact on all areas of research and teaching. For us, successful appointments are both a success factor and an indicator of academic excellence.
The Appointment Management team oversees the appointment process at the university on the basis of legal requirements, from the planning of the professorship to the appointment of the candidate. The appointment procedures are always organised as transparently and efficiently as possible.
It is particularly important to our university to conduct appointment negotiations with applicants constructively, fairly and swiftly in a pleasant atmosphere. The Appointment Management team is responsible for the preparation and follow-up of appointment and retention negotiations and the clarification of related matters.
During the appointment process, the Appointment Management team sees itself as a point of contact for the decentralised institutions for legal and administrative questions and for applicants with questions about their appointment negotiations. It supports and advises the members of the Executive Board during the appointment process.
