Projektbeschreibung
The project involves the development of catalytic processes for alkane carbonylation to generate aldehydes. In a second approach a direct carbonylation of amines to yield amides is envisaged. Amines can be generated in a preceding amination reaction. All of the conversions will be catalyzed by two functional centers in order to achieve consecutive reactions of two decisive catalytic reaction steps. Reaction control will impart kinetic studies in combination with ligand design to adjust the rates of the reaction at two different catalytic centers. This will also involve a variation of the distances between two reaction centers. To achieve the goals a combined experimental a theoretical approach will be necessary, which imparts the spectroscopic study of model reactions combined with theory (with Kaupp group, TU Berlin). A scale up of carbonylation reactions will be performed with the Schom?cker group (TU Berlin). The project also aims for the incooperation of catalytic active cobalt centers synthesized by the Ray group (HU Berlin) as well as immobilization reactions of an Ir/Pd catalyst to study electrocatalytic properties (Drie? group, TU Berlin).
