Psychosocial Risk and Resilience Mechanisms

Making use of national longitudinal data sets, we examine (a) the nature of historical trends in health, well-being, and cognition among middle-aged adults across 42 nations, covering six continents, (b) identify socioeconomic status, gender, and race population segments who are most vulnerable to historical declines or who benefitted the least from historical improvements, and (c) investigate the role of individual- and national-level characteristics that moderate differences in historical trends and how these differ across population segments
