This course is designed to help you build and enhance your professional network effec-tively. Whether you’re just starting your career or looking to expand your connections, we’ll cover key strategies for networking in a meaningful and authentic way. You’ll learn how to approach potential mentors, peers, and industry professionals and how to craft a compelling elevator pitch.


Part 1: Building Your Networking Foundation
In this session, you'll explore the short- and long-term benefits of professional network-ing. You'll assess your current network, define personal networking goals, and identify key opportunities for connection. You'll also be introduced to the concept of informa-tional interviewing and begin crafting your own elevator pitch and question set to pre-pare for meaningful conversations.


Homework: Between sessions, you’ll refine your elevator pitch, draft outreach mes-sages, and review background material on informational interviews and inclusive net-working practices.

Part 2: Applying and Expanding Your Skills

This session focuses on deepening your skills in conducting informational interviews and navigating challenging communication scenarios. You’ll practice outreach conver-sations, receive feedback, and gain confidence in initiating contact. We’ll also touch on digital networking strategies, including how to build a professional online presence. The session concludes with the development of a personal action plan to grow and sustain your network.


Successful participation in the seminar is a prerequisite for the acquisition of credit points. This includes:

  • Regular presence and active participation in the seminar
  • Participation in the practical exercises, completion of the tasks and presenta-tion of results in the seminar
  • Take-home assignment (part 1)
